The History of this Campaign...

In 2002, when workers at the Consolidated Biscuit Company (CBC) plant in McComb, Ohio decided they wanted a say in the working conditions, wages and benefits that affect their lives and families, they called the BCTGM.

The majority of the more than 800 workers decided to exercise their right to form a union and signed recognition cards. But Consolidated Biscuit hired a union busting firm and started threatening workers with firings, deportations, plant closure, reduction of wages and more.

Despite repeated Court rulings against CBC for serious violations of Federal Labor Law, the company’s vicious, massive anti-union campaign continued.

In May 2010,  Hearthside Food Solutions acquired CBC.

Hearthside Workers Continue Fight for Justice and a BCTGM Contract

The workers at CBC, now Hearthside, have had their protected labor rights violated for more than nine years and the BCTGM International Union has been fighting for these workers the entire time without reprieve. On January 10, 2011, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ordered that Hearthside fully comply with the Court's November 14, 2008 judgement to CBC. (Read a summary of the full Consent Order here).

Now is the time for the workers to rise up and Vote Union Yes and finally gain a voice in their workplace!
