We can’t afford to pass fast track legislation, which would pave the way for a bad trade deal that lowers wages and outsources jobs.

  • For decades, we’ve seen how fast-tracked trade deals have devastated our communities through lost jobs and eroded public services. WeΒ need a new model for trade that raises wages, addresses currency cheating, and doesn’t prioritize corporate profits over protecting working people.
  • Β That’s why Congress must reject Fast Track and maintain its leverage and its constitutional authority over trade policy to improve the TPP and other trade deals.
  • Β Relinquishing the ability to amend or improve trade deals that have been negotiated behind closed doors is dangerous and undemocratic. Trade deals shouldn’t be Β rubber-stamped; they should be debated in a full and open manner like every other piece of legislation to ensure they create jobs and help more people reach the middle class.
