17 Jul Day 12: Solidarity, Unity, Tenacity of the Frito Lay Strike
My friends, it is solidarity of labor we want. We do not want to find fault with each other, but to solidify our forces and say to each other: We must be together; our masters are joined together and we must do the same thing.

Solidarity remains steadfast on the Local 218 Frito Lay strike line outside the plant in Topeka, Kansas as the fight for a fair contract enters its third week. The strike continues to gain national attention and today, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders commended the striking Local 218 members for their courage and called out Frito Lay for its mistreatment of the hardworking union workers.
With community support for the striking union members very high, workers remain strong in their resolve. Here are some of the brave Local 218 members on Day 12 of the Frito Lay strike.
Rashaun Thompson has worked in sanitation at Frito Lay for six years. โI want to feel appreciated.โ 
Charles Taylor workers is a PMO and has worked for Frito Lay for three years. โIโm striking for more time to see my family. Period.โ 
Linde Carson (right) has worked as a PMO at Frito Lay for 23 years. โOT is just as bad today as when I started here 23 years ago.โ (Pictured on the left is Paris Raite, a community supporter who came down to the picket line to show solidarity with the strikers.) 
Katelin Thurman has worked as a Warehouse Picker Loader for two years. โIโm striking because I want to see a reduction in the amount of overtime and see a safer work environment.โ 
John Reeve has worked for Frito Lay for four years as a PMO. โIโm striking because of the unfair working conditions and to spend more time with my family. Especially my two year old daughter.โ
