Union Members Mobilize to Pass the HEROES Act

Across the country, BCTGM members are taking action to pressure the U.S. Senate to pass the HEROES Act. It is the legislation we need to get America back on track.

The HEROES Act includes an effective, comprehensive solution to the multiemployer pension funding crisis that would provide long-term security for pension funds, including the B&C Fund, and for beneficiaries.ย

Additionally, the HEROES Act would protect frontline workers, make vital investments, and extend unemployment benefits and health care for working people impacted by COVID-19.

BCTGM International President Anthony Shelton is calling on all our local unions to work with state federations and central labor councils to take action and demand that senators pass the HEROES Act as soon as the Senate comes back into session.

“We demand that our elected leadersโ€”especially our senatorsโ€”step up during this time of unprecedented challenge. They must do the right thing for Americaโ€™s workers and our families. This is a moment that demands clear action and common purpose. Any meaningful recovery will require our government to prioritize working families.”

– BCTGM International President Anthony Shelton

Workers built America. We keep this nation running every day, and we will rebuild Americaโ€™s prosperity. Now we must stand up and demand action from our government; we must call for the Senate to pass the HEROES Act.
