05 May Join the #NabiscoShareholdersShowdown
Last year, Nabisco/MondelΔz eliminated 600 good, middle-class jobs in Chicago in order to outsource Nabisco production to Mexico. And while workers in Mexico are paid only $1 per hour, MondelΔz CEO Irene Rosenfeld averages nearly $20 million per year.
So on May 17, when company decision makers gather for the annual MondelΔz Shareholders Meeting in Lincolnshire, Ill., BCTGM Nabisco/MondelΔz workers, BCTGM local unions, supporters and activists will be there to protest the companyβs failed business model that destroys American jobs, exploits workers,Β and devastates communities.
If you can attend theΒ rallyΒ please RSVP to our Facebook Event Page for event details, updates and reminders as the May 17th event approaches.
Nabisco/MondelΔz supporters who cannot be there in person are urged to join our Thunderclap Nabisco/MondelΔz Shareholders Action NOW to support the rally via your Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr pages.
Through Thunderclap, your message supporting #NabiscoShareholdersShowdown will be added to a mass-post on social media at 9am EST during the rally – in a flash mob style of collective online action.
Help us tell the corporate leaders of Nabisco/MondelΔz loud and clear: the BCTGM and its coalition of supporters will not back away from global corporations that divide workers, destroy communities and diminish the living standards of workers!
