26 May On the Road with Local 6 Day ONE: Local 6 Begins Massive COVID-19 Food Relief Effort
In a 26-foot rented box truck, BCTGM Local 6 Financial Secretary-Treasurer Edgar Rodriguez, Local 6 member Wilfredo Rodriguez and President Hank McKay began the local’s three-day food collection journey this morning in Lancaster, Pa. that will include thousands of pounds of BCTGM made goods distributed to union families across hundreds of miles.
McKay’s first stop was the Kellogg’s plant where members of BCTGM Local Local 374G produce Kellogg’s Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes. Once the truck was loaded with the cereals donated by Kellogg, Rodriguez and his Local 6 brother Wilfredo Rodriguez, who works at the BIMBO USA bakery in Reading, Pa., began the BCTGM Food Relief journey.
