Va. Governor Meets with Fired Interbake Worker and BCTGM Intl. Rep.
On Saturday August 16, BCTGM International Representative Joe Sardina and Interbake BCTGM supporter John Robinson had the opportunity to meet with Virginia Governor Tim Kaine. Governor Kaine was in Winchester, VA campaigning for Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. During his speech Governor Kaine told the crowd that by electing Barack Obama a new and much needed National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) would be appointed.

Following the event, Sardina together with illegally fired Interbake worker John Robinson had the opportunity to meet with Governor Kaine. Sardina, Robinson and the Governor discussed the NLRB Complaint, Objections to the Election and the more than 48 indictments against Interbake. Robinson told the Governor how he and six of his co-workers were fired for supporting the BCTGM and emphasized the need for Justice. Meanwhile, Sardina explained to Governor Kaine that the current fight at Interbake is just one of the many reasons why the Employee Free Choice Act needs to be passed into law. Governor Kaine sympathized with Robinson and all of the Weston's Interbake workers.Governor Kaine took a copy of the Official NLRB Complaint and all of the charges against Weston Interbake before heading back to the Capitol.
